There will be a set marching route along which the balloons will cross, and players will have to deploy monkey soldiers or spike towers on both sides of the path to break the balloons! The long green bar at the top is a life gauge for both sides, and each time a player fails to stop the balloons from crossing the line a certain amount is deducted, and the side that goes to zero first is the loser. The monkeys themselves have a wide range of troops, from the usual shuriken to ninjas and snipers, with spike towers that emit a spray of spikes or just drop foot spikes on the road, plus artillery missile towers for ranged blasts.
Both soldiers and turrets can be upgraded on the field with rewards earned by breaking balloons. The game splits the attack power and attack range for players to choose to upgrade. Note, however, that each combat unit has a skill tree of its own, and players must raise their skill limit before they can upgrade on the field. As opposed to the player's army, the target balloons themselves will change as the game progresses, such as faster movement, rapid regeneration of sub-balloons after being shot, and even the design of steel shields! The game has different modes of attack and defence. Before the battle begins, players have to choose one of them according to their preference, and once the battle begins, players in attack mode can spend gold to add additional balloons at any time.
The game is energy-based, with the amount of purple lightning consumed in the top left corner before each battle. As in other games with a similar setup, the lightning can be restored over time, otherwise you have to pay extra for it. In addition to the opening scene, lightning bolts can also be used to peek at the enemy's strength before battle.
